THE PROMISE: God Provides Wisdom

"Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him." James 1:5 HCSB

The Bible teaches us that God’s wisdom is the ultimate wisdom. And His Word promises us that if we seek His guidance, He will provide it. But as a thoughtful person living in a world filled with temptations, interruptions, and distractions, you know that it’s all too easy to focus on the demands of everyday life rather than the truth contained in God’s holy Word.

Do you seek to live according to God’s plan? If so, you must study His Word. You must seek out worthy teachers and listen to them. You must seek out like-minded and like-purposed friends. Then, as you accumulate wisdom, you must not keep it for yourself; you must share it with others.

But, know this: If you sincerely want to share the wisdom that you have learned, your actions must lend credibility to your words. You can’t "talk-the-talk" and not "walk-the-walk." The best and truest way to share wisdom is through your actions. You will not be able to talk your way out of something you behaved your way into. You have to behave your way to your truth and His Truth.

“Knowledge can be found in books and in school. Wisdom, on the other hand, starts with God…and ends there.” - Marie T. Freeman

A Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, make me a person of wisdom and discernment. I seek wisdom Lord, not as the world gives, but as You give. Lead me in Your ways and teach me in Your Word, so that in time, my wisdom might glorify Your kingdom and Your Son. Amen.
