DON’T FIX THE OLD MAN

Don’t fix the old man! That’s dumb! You can’t fix something dead. So don’t!

Ephesians 4:22 “that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside THE OLD SELF, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,”

Don’t fix the old man, and do not even attempt to fix the old man. HE IS DEAD. Focus on putting on the NEW MAN instead. FOCUS ENTIRELY ON THE NEW MAN.

Ephesians 4:24 “and put on THE NEW SELF, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.”

Are there bathrooms in the Kingdom of Heaven? Seriously? Is there even a need for toilet paper in the KINGDOM? I am being 100% serious. It is an important question. The answer is an outstanding “No!”

John 14:6 "Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

Don’t be ridiculous; there’s no need for bathrooms or toilet paper in the Kingdom of God. There’s no need for many things, including EVERYTHING RELATED TO THE OLD MAN. His stench has been dealt with, ONCE AND FOR ALL.

2 Corinthians 5:14-19 "For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that ONE DIED FOR ALL, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation."

Jesus, in restoring the KINGDOM OF GOD, has done many amazing things FOR US. Our part is to RECEIVE THEM ALL. Yes, it greatly delights OUR FATHER when Jesus is glorified. Jesus is glorified when we RECEIVE HIS LIFE. It’s a FREE GIFT OF GRACE. Get your head around that!

“Do not lie to one another, since you LAID ASIDE THE OLD SELF with its evil practices,”

Therefore, because you don’t have to, DO NOT ACCOMMODATE THE OLD MAN ANYMORE! He doesn’t get a vote! When you think about it, accommodating the OLD MAN is silly. Because He’s dead, so don’t waste your time or energy accommodating the dead and their dead things.

Romans 8:3-4 "For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, GOD DID: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit."

There’s plenty of GOOD to do IN THIS WORLD as we put on NEW MAN. Put on CHRIST. We have received HIS LIFE, HIS FULL LIFE, so we walk in it. Putting on the NEW MAN is easy. Just breathe and trust Jesus ALREADY DID EVERYTHING because you can’t.

Galatians 5:24 "Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."

Putting on the OLD MAN is believing and TRUSTING that Jesus took your OLD MAN and crucified your flesh on the CROSS. Jesus took your place and took your judgment and gave you HIS FULL LIFE and everything in it, including the absolute love of the FATHER. BELIEVE.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

JESUS DID EVERYTHING. Putting on the NEW MAN is as simple as BREATHING. Just breathe, and walk like you believe.

Colossians 3:10 “and have PUT ON THE NEW SELF who is being renewed to a true knowledge according TO THE IMAGE OF THE ONE WHO CREATED HIM—”

Ignore the OLD MAN’S ISSUES. He’s dead, DON’T even address the issues as if they don’t exist. Don’t get caught up chasing squirrels; they are dead too! NEVER FORGET, Jesus, DID IT ALL!

Zephaniah 3:15 "The Lord has taken away His judgments against you, He has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; You will fear disaster no more."

Does the old man ever listen, obey, or cooperate? No! Have you ever wondered why? Because he is dead! He can’t listen, so leave him alone; he’s dead.
