Why Praise & Worship?

"We love, because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19 And, "Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba! Father!Galatians 4:6

Before we introduce you to our favorite praise and worship resources, let's first discuss why we praise God, and why we worship Him. The simple truth is that we worship God because He first loved us.

We praise God because He has done it all for us, "looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

We praise and worship God because of His extraordinary love for us. God lavishes His love on us through Grace. "even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)... For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;" Ephesians 2:5, 8

Out of Gratitude and Love, We Praise & Worship Him

We love Him and we show it in our admiration, our praise, and our worship. Jesus made us righteous. We are literally in right standing with God because of what Jesus did. It is finished! "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:21

We praise God because He has done it all for us, through Jesus Christ. We have been reconciled, restored, and resurrected IN CHRIST and we now live as new creations, in Christ. "having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God." Philippians 1:11This page represents the favorite ways the students and staff at Clearview worship and praise God

We praise God because we have salvation and eternal life as a free gift of Grace. The fact is, we praise and worship God because we deserve none of His love or mercy, or grace. Because we have received EVERYTHING but DESERVED NOTHING, we worship God from a place of gratitude, humility, and peace. "Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" 1 Corinthians 3:16

We believe when we praise and worship God (with our whole hearts), we acknowledge Him and we receive what we already have. the Bible declares that God inhabits us, He dwells within us.

"Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16

Therefore, when we praise and worship God we are in alignment with His promises that are already within us. We praise Him and worship Him because He has already given us everything we need in Christ, who dwells within us. The Spirit of God dwells within us, therefore we lack nothing.

We read in Psalm 22:3 that “God Inhabits the Praises of His People.”

Although God is all around us already just like the air we breathe, when we praise and worship Him He shows up on a different level. And it is in His presence that we encounter God, and in the encounter, our hearts and minds are changed forever.See The Clearview favorite Praise and Worship Bands!

"But a time is coming, and even now has arrived when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" 1 Corinthians 6:19

There is no rules or magic formula. If you have a voice, shout out to the Lord. Be generous with your praise and then worship Him. Worship God by reading His Word. Believe His Word as you read it, thanking God out loud for His Word and praise Him for the promises and truth in the Word.

"Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16

God wants to love us, and He wants to spend time with us. He wants to show us his nature, which is love. He wants to fill you up with His love so that you can be a vessel of love for those who need it.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2

Everything God has done for us is "FOR US," literally. God wants nothing FROM US, but He wants everything FOR US. This is another reason we praise Him and worship Him.

"For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15
