Are You Godfident?

"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that person ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." James 1:5-8

Godfident… those who are Godfident eagerly YIELD to the Holy Spirit as they submit to God in the confident expectation that His wisdom, direction, and timing are far superior to their own.

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

Godfident people know they will hear His voice and act accordingly, which they believe is crucial to their success in ALL of their ventures. Godfident people believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ, which was finished upon the cross more than 2,000 years ago

"Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." John 19:30

Godfident people are always prepared to hear God, knowing He will lead them triumphantly, especially as they mature in the Holy Spirit.Godfident… those who are Godfident eagerly YIELD to the Holy Spirit as they submit to God in the confident expectation that His wisdom, direction, and timing are far superior to their own.

"He is the One we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ." Colossians 1:28

For Those Who Are Godfident

Godfident people make decisions based on the will of God and not their flesh, feelings, perceived rights, or demands. Work requires effort. But Godfident folks work to rest IN HIM. Meaning, they trust Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus and the finished work of Jesus Christ.

"But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 NLT

We have a good Father, and He's absolutely good. We are the righteousness of God in Jesus as we co-labor with Him through the Holy Spirit.

"having canceled the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross." Colossians 2:14

Godfident people make decisions based on the will of God, and not their flesh, feelings, perceived rights, or demands. Work requires effort. But Godfident folks work to rest IN HIM. Meaning, they trust Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus, and the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus had complete and absolute confidence in His Father that His Father’s goodness and faithfulness would raise Him from the dead. Jesus’ confidence was in His Father absolutely, meaning Jesus had “Godfidence” that His Father was faithful and He would raise Him from the dead. Jesus placed His absolute confidence in His Father, thus exercising His Godfidence.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

There is always enough of everything we will need to fulfill God's will and purpose in the Father's goodwill. Because He has already given us everything we need IN CHRIST, we will not shrink His great vision to fit our present capacities and capabilities. Rather, we will humbly surrender to Him and posture ourselves to receive His perfect wisdom and heavenly ideas and His divine interventions.

"but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than mankind, and the weakness of God is stronger than mankind. For consider your calling, brothers, and sisters, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no human may boast before God. But it is due to Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written: “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:24-31

Faith is a risk, but it is eliminated by the truth (Jesus) as we walk in the Spirit. To the Godfident, the Father’s voice carries a higher guarantee than anything we could come up with. We know we didn't sow and water, but the harvest is coming to us in due season.

"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints," Ephesians 1:17-18

Godfident That Our Father Has a Plan - He Has Rivers of Living Water

"The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ " John 7:38

Our Heavenly Father is planning generations, centuries, and ages to accomplish His purposes. He’s got a big job, and we are a big part of it. God loves us beyond anything we can comprehend, and it’s complete and eternal. So, our desire for our present and near-term should be tempered by deference to His ultimate plans.

"Jesus replied to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10

The truth is, the depth of His love overwhelms us. So much so that His love compels us to share His love with EVERYONE, thus naturally and effortlessly wanting to point anyone and everyone to receive the perfect love from God, for themselves.

We love because He first loved us, and as “the beloved of God,” we are transformed, and it’s a radical transformation. Those who are Godfident know they are different. The Godfident ones know they have a blessed opportunity, and they have humbled themselves before our Father to receive increasing measures of His love.

"to whom God willed to make known what the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Colossians 1:27

People with Godfidence know the Father’s love never ends and has no limit, and it was designed without limits. Because of His for us and His love in us, we are intrinsically motivated to share His love through our everyday lives and relationships.

"This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:17-19

People with Godfidecne know the Father's Love is the wellspring of every resource they could ever possibly need, whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

"May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Godfident people allow God's love to undo any walls around their heart that keep them from receiving all of the Father's unlimited love.

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

Folks with high Godfidence shift from "doing things for God" to receiving love from God. It is a radical paradigm shift for sure. We drop the need “to be loved” because Jesus already fulfilled everything we need.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10

Jesus did it all, so all we need to focus on is receiving it. “To be loved” by God through Jesus sets us free from every sort of performance trap. In essence, we can learn to trust God in everything because He is everything, and all He wants from us is to receive it all, all of His love.
