THE PROMISE: WHEN WE ARE ANXIOUS, WE CAN TAKE OUR BURDENS TO THE LORD

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7 NIV

We live in a world that breeds anxiety and fear. When we come face-to-face with tough times, we may fall prey to discouragement, doubt, or depression.

But our Father in heaven has other plans. God has promised that we can lead lives of abundance, not anxiety. In fact, His Word instructs us to “be anxious for nothing” (Philippians 4:6 NKJV).

But how can we put our fears to rest? By taking those fears to God and leaving them there. Today, when you pass by the Yongsung Kim painting in the main hall on the first floor above the piano, I want you to look at Jesus’ eyes and leave your fears there.

As you face the challenges of today, you may find yourself becoming anxious, troubled, discouraged, or fearful. If so, turn every one of your concerns over to your Heavenly Father.

The same God who created the universe and the moon and the ocean and Mount Kilimanjaro is conspiring to help you…if you ask Him…so look into Jesus’ eyes and ask Him and trust Him. And then watch in amazement as your anxieties melt in the warmth of His loving embrace.

“When you are anxious, it means that you aren’t trusting God completely; it means that you aren’t trusting God to take care of your needs.” - Stormie Omartian

Our Prayer: Heavenly Father, sometimes troubles and distractions preoccupy my thoughts and trouble my soul. When I am anxious, Lord, let me turn my prayers to You. When I am worried, give me faith in You. Let me live courageously, dear Lord, knowing that You love me and that You will protect me, today, tomorrow, and always. Amen.
