THE PROMISE: TRUST GOD TO KEEP YOUR CONSCIENCE CLEAR AND YOU WILL BE BLESSED

"Now the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith." 1 Timothy 1:5 HCSB

There is a famous proverb about what conscience is. It goes, “Conscience is the dog that can’t bite, but never stops barking.”

I always liked that. God gave you a conscience. He wants you to use it; to listen to it; it is your guide; the voice of your soul.

Sometimes we don’t listen to our conscience. Instead of listening to that quiet inner voice that warns us against danger and reckless behaviors, we’re tempted to rush headfirst into situations that we soon come to regret.

In those situations where you ignore your conscience, that pang and twang in your stomach is your conscience telling you, “You know better.”

God promises that He blesses those who obey His word. The Lord is also very direct in warning those who rebel against His commandments. Wise women heed that warning. Are you a wise woman?

A clear conscience is one of the rewards we earn when we obey God’s Word and follow His will. When we follow God’s will and accept His gift of salvation, our earthly rewards are never-ending, and our heavenly rewards are everlasting.

Sometime soon, your conscience will speak; when it does, listen carefully. God may be trying to get a message through to you. Are you willing to listen? Are you unwilling to listen? The choice is yours…

“Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.” - Mother Teresa

Our Prayer: Dear Lord, You speak to me through the gift of Your holy Word. And Father, You speak to me through that still small voice that tells me right from wrong. Let me follow Your way, Lord, and in these quiet moments, show me Your plan for this day, that I might serve You. Amen.
